Unless there's a trade between now and 5 PM tomorrow, I'd have to imagine Edmundson and Pacioretty will both begin on LTIR.

this is mostly pretty decent. but we have to be real....oshie isn't a top 6 player at this point in his career. love the dude, but there are a lot of wingers that should get a lot more ice time than him this season.

I probably would agree with the oshie isn't top 6, but pending a very unlikely trade I think its the best option given line chemistry in camp.

Edmundson and Pacioretty will almost certainly be on IR but since the caps don't play until friday they still have time to make moves, including putting Mantha on waivers. Odds are we will see a lot of paper transactions with waiver exempt guys to maximize the LTIR relief of Pacioretty and Edmundson. People shouldnt freak out when HHA, McMichael, Protas, Miro are all probably "sent down" at some point this week

Mantha waiving could maybe come later this week but it won't happen at least today, agree that we'll probably see a decent chunk of the waiver-exempt guys go down so that they can wait until tomorrow to put Patches and Edmundson on LTIR.

Edit: the fact Johansen wasn't waived yet is confusing though.

Yep, made this before we found out he'd made the opening roster. Wasn't expecting 8D this early into the year but at the least it'll be a preview of the team once Edmundson returns. Still surprised he made it though because he looked rough in his last two appearances, and the game he was paired with Iorio was also a nightmare.
