Quoting: DQavis
monahan yes is a gamble but cbj made alot of moves that look like there ready adding quanity to the line up for even one of bean peeke or boqvist (odd man out) is worth it.
CBJ's moves have been 1) a 1st and 2nd for Provorov (an upgrade for futures), 2) a 3rd for Severson's rights, who came extended (an upgrade for futures), and 3) that's it. Every other trade has been moving players out at the deadline, shifting picks for different picks on draft day, signing picks to ELCs, or signing internal RFAs to extensions. This isn't some all-in push like people make it seem, it's literally a couple of upgrades at positions of need (including filling the hole Gavrikov left).
I think we need a chance to evaluate the pieces we have in an already-crowded roster under a new coach with a new system. Once we figure out who the odd man out is between Bean, Boqvist, Peeke, Blankenburg, etc, Jarmo will probably look to make a move, but that's probably mid-December. At that point, we're still probably looking to move them as part of a package for an upgrade rather than just futures.
