CBJ aren't interested in trading a guy who wants to be on the team and is signed through 2026 for someone who's going to dip in FA before the team's window even potentially would open. Just doesn't make any sense for them.

Oh I'd 100% do it then. Nylander is worth ~1 mil more per year than Laine imo, so that'd be great for Columbus, plus it'd give 2 extra years of team control compared to Laine currently. Columbus would likely need to add something in that instance though if Nylander is willing to extend.
