First - Leaf's first rounder will be very low, almost like a second, for which you want two seconds in return?
Second: Myers has only 1 year left with a CAP of $6M and only $1M cash, for Brodie? Myers is the same age, same points, but is much bigger and is more durable. But you want Canucks to retain $3M for the privilege?
Third: Jarncrock is 6 years older than Boeser and only hit 20 goals once. Boeser has eclipsed more than 20 goals 4 times (almost 30 once). and in his down year scored 18. For this privilege you want Canucks to retain $3.25M?
I mean..........were you drunk when you put this together?

1st - Check the advanced stats...Brodie >>>>>>> Myers
2nd - Jarnkrok is only $2.1m cap hit and has 3 yrs left where as Boeser has a $6.6m cap hit and 2 yrs left. Yes.... Boeser does have better offensive stats - however - Jarnkrok's positional flexibilty and all round effective game gives the Canucks a more versatile player who can produce offensively and NOT be a defensive liability as Boeser certainly is - Not a big concern if Boeser gets lined up with Matthews - one of the top defensively responsible forwards in the game.
3rd - without the trade the Canucks are looking at $6.6m of Boeser on the books for next season - with the trade they are looking at $2.1m of Jarnkrok - this extra cap space is HUGE when it comes to signing extensions for Petterson and Hronek especially, but also Beauvilier and Spencer and youngsters Rathbone, Joshua, Studnicka and Dries. All of whom should be locked into the lineup next season.

You gotta look beyond just points scored when putting a roster together guy. $$$, team balance and chemistry are all huge factors to consider.
