Yeah maybe the rangers and leaf but a package together of one team to retain it all... but this is the only way Nylander to NY works with the cap

I mean chicago isn't going to be contenders for at least 3 years and depending on the picks and prospects NY and TOR are willing to throw together it would make sense for them

I think if you keep them at their contracts Nylander is more valuable because panarin is overpaid. If you can drop panarin down to 7-8 mil he's more valuable

Can't agree. Panarin scores more and makes his line mates better. Nylander scores more goals, but look who he has as linemates setting him up. If the money were equal, Panarin wins every time. Plus, Nylanders next contract is going to be huge and probably not age all that well, which is why the Leafs want to move him, but Panarin is only signed at his current cost for 3 more seasons and he is still in his prime.

Idk panarins contract ends when he's 34. Nylander is 27 now so if he got a 7year deal it'd be when he was 34 too. Plus with Nylander being able to play right side that would help the Rangers and get laf in the top 6

I have no issue with a Panarin for Nylander trade, my problem is the Rangers adding to the trade as the poster suggested. That's a no go for me.

I feel like since the rangers gave him that awful contract the they should help get the retention down. Or instead of paying another team the rangers retain some themselves.

The original trade posted included retention. Then a Leaf fan said the Rangers need to add MORE, and that is what I disagree with. I'm fine with the retention and a straight 1 for 1 trade because the Rangers could then sign Nylander to a new deal, but no way would I ADD more to the trade.

Also, Panarin could have got more from another team when he signed, so would you have preferred he signed somewhere else?

Personally yes. I wish the rangers would've gone all in with the rebuild instead of overpaying multiple free agents like they love to do.

Panarin at 9 mill isn't worth Nylander IMO... And again, he isn't waiving

Panarin has a better ppg in the playoff than Nylander. He's only struggled with the rangers and the year they went to the ECF he had 16 points in 20 games

And this year, with those whopping 2 points, 0 goals... And having 2 points in 3 games in 2019-20... He's struggled in the playoffs, the Leafs don't need another Mitch Marner on their team, especially another one at 9 mill

So in your opinion who is better marner or Nylander
