Pettersson is a 100 point Selke caliber centerman

and Miro is a 70 point norris caliber dman? Miro is a top 5 D and I dont think Petey is a top 5 forward and isnt really even close to that group of guys in the top 5

There are a lot more forwards than there are defensemen, and Pettersson is a better player than Miro, simply put. Hughes is also basically a point per game norris caliber d man who is constantly underrated, but I'd still take Pettersson over him quite easily.

Actually i retract the "close to that group" because he could be there by the end of next season who knows, his break out year was just this year so if he keeps developing off a 100 point season he could be in the debate for it

Agree to disagree than, im taking a 70-80 point norris caliber dman over a 100 point forward in todays NHL. Miro giving me way more minutes plus was out of forward points petey finished like 9-10 and Miro was tied 5th amongst dmen. Feel as if you have a bias outlook too cause you are clearly a fan of Petey

But Pettersson isn't just a 100 point forward. He has Selke level defense. He is near the top of the league defensively while putting up 100 points. He is arguably one of the most well rounded players in the entire league. He provides elite levels of offense, defense, finishing, plays on the PP, PK, takes very few penalties, draws a lot of penalties, consistently puts up points. Once again, there are more forwards better than Pettersson than defenseman over Heiskanen, but there are simply way more forwards in the league than defensemen. There are 3 forward positions and only 2 defense positions. That is 50% more competition.



Not to take away from Heiskanen, but a 1C is still more coveted than a 1D

Yeah i get what youre saying for sure, i value having a 1A Dman very high amongst positions. Petey for sure over Nico, i could have the unpopular opinion here but just my values, i definitely see why you would take him over Miro either way both players are a decent pick. I'm just happy neither ended up on the FLyers

I retract what I said about it not being close, because I suppose it is definitely debatable, but I still don't see a world where Pettersson goes anywhere but #2 in a re-draft. I don't think Dallas is complaining after stealing Miro, Robo, and Otter in the same year

Yeah true. Petey is definitely disgusting at the sport. Dont think Dallas would complain with having either of them
