The 2nd rounders are for taking the cap hits on Kuzy & Mantha and Barrie going back is to help the cap numbers work

There's nothing here that'd entice NSH to trade Glass.

I only wondered how high of an opinion they have of him. He has been okay, but I expected more from him from when/ where he was drafted. Maybe a late bloomer?

He'll never live up to his draft position, but that's on Vegas for rushing him into the NHL prematurely. He was looking like a bona fide #2 center last season, and still steadily improving every game. It looks like there's still a good amount of untapped potential there. It'll be interesting to see how he meshes with the new coach. NSH has some really nice center depth right now, but no true #1 guy. Glass has the best chance to become that guy for them.

He'll never be a superstar, but he could still be a competent top line player (with the right linemates). Packaging him with other pieces for a clear upgrade would be the only logical reason for NSH to trade him.

This is ****ing terrible for Washington. Kuznetsov and Barrie are basically a wash. WSH wants Barrie as little as NSH wants Kuznetsov. Fehervary alone is worth more than the rest of that entire package from NSH and why TF is WSH adding a boatload of picks. Absolutely horrible.

Fehervary is a 3D at the NHL-level and has been so for several seasons. Glass is a 3rd liner at the NHL level at best at this point. McCarron looks like a career AHLer. Obviously a 3rd and two 2nds are worth much more than a 4th.

There is literally NOTHING in this trade that WSH actually wants or needs. Barrie? Please, Barrie is a Cap Dump and WSH does not have any need for him.

How does this help WSH rebuild? McCarron and Glass are unlikely to ever be consistent Top 6 players.

- How is that a wash? WSH wants out of Kuzy's contract, and would be the 1C in NSH. NSH gets out of Barrie but it's only half the cap hit.

Fehervary alone is worth more than the rest of that entire package from NSH and why TF is WSH adding a boatload of picks. Absolutely horrible.

- Fehervary is a solid player, but hardly worth much more than what this is. And it was already explained to the rest of the class that the 2 2nds are the compensation to unload the surplus cap hours from taking on Kuzy & Mantha.

Fehervary is a 3D at the NHL-level and has been so for several seasons. Glass is a 3rd liner at the NHL level at best at this point. McCarron looks like a career AHLer. Obviously a 3rd and two 2nds are worth much more than a 4th.

- Again, Fehervary is a solid player, but on most teams can slide between the 2nd & 3rd pairings. Read the above comment from others on Glass' worth. He is a 2C/3C depending on the team with room to grow. And would benefit from playing with WSH's wingers v. what he had in NSH. McCarron is like Tom Wilson light; very light... but the change of scenery might do him some good. And again, the picks are compensation for eating the extra salary: NSH has the room to do it; WSH does not.

There is literally NOTHING in this trade that WSH actually wants or needs. Barrie? Please, Barrie is a Cap Dump and WSH does not have any need for him.

- Again WSH needs the cap flexibility this deal offers. Barrie is not a cap dump; that requires a team to need to free up cap space. NSH has plenty of room, so no its not.

How does this help WSH rebuild? McCarron and Glass are unlikely to ever be consistent Top 6 players.

- 1st of all, it's a retool; not rebuild. BIG difderence. And they want out of these 2 contracts; this gives them that. And Glass will likely be a 2C, and McCarron a 4th liner.

Cody Glass had 35PTs last year. He’s not a 2C today and it’s not very likely he ever will be. The Caps do not want out of Mantha and Kuznetsov’s contracts badly enough to lose a trade this horribly. Kuznetsov is at worst a 2C on basically every team in the NHL. Fehervary is a Top 4D, that is not debatable. The Caps are not going to pray that Glass ever becomes worth something and pay two 2nd while giving up two players who will play in their Top 4 and Top 6 for this package. It’s an easy NO.

Let’s just restructure since you refuse to get the point. Barrie and Mantha are a WASH. Same money and neither is desired by the team that is acquiring them in this trade. Kuznetsov is clearly a vastly superior player to Glass today. Fehervary is clearly superior to McCarron, there’s no argument to be made. So that leaves the Capitals adding a 3rd and two 2nds for a 4th. No matter how you split it, this is terrible for Washington and there’s no chance they consider it.

You're very angry about a made up trade idea...
