Gonna go out on a limb here and say that John Beecher is not going to be the first line center

Beecher at 1C is....something.

Boqvist and Lauko will most likely be fighting for the 4RW/LW spot unless one of them has a really good camp. 2LW is going be between Merkulov, JVR, Frederic and Lysell (2RW). Geekie is going to be a 3rd line staple unless he jumps Coyle to be 2C later in the year.

Boqvist has potential to play higher in the lineup. At 3C with established players he can hold his own. That said, the worst top 9 combo the Devils played all year was Boqvist with Sharangovich and Holtz

He has a career 36% faceoff average, I don't see him being deployed at center. Could he play higher? Sure, but I think he starts in the bottom 6.

Fair enough. He has a lot of raw skill that could easily be put to waste, especially with the wings being so much deeper than the centers
