Was hoping the Oilers could move Nurse and free up the cap space. Sooner or later the injury bug will hit their top two players and when that happens, freefall.
Cliffton and or Holl would have been great additions. Low cost Belzile and Richard formerly of Montreal would have help the 4th line.
This year doubt they make the final 4.

That's a whole lot of irrationality, jealousy and ignorance wrapped up in one post.


This is 90% the same team that finished 2nd in the West last season.


Skinner proved he was a starter last year.


Nurse and Ekholm are top pairing D by any measure. Ceci and Bouchard are top-4 D. Kulak is proven, Broberg and Desharnais both posted very good xGF% shares last year, Broberg especially has room to grow.


Add RFA Ryan McLeod and that's one of the best 4th lines in the league.


You could argue they didn't have one last year either (Yamamoto), yet they finished 2nd in the West and just 2 points back of Vegas. I wouldn't start Lavoie at 2RW and I suspect Woodcroft won't either, but he could easily perform better than Yamamoto in that role. He would certainly score more goals.
