Not a bad job

Biggest changes I’d make are:
R.Johnson is definitely our top LD prospect
And this Russian defensemen might need to be moved up too, been reading A LOT of good things about them

Nice job overall though

I'm not sure how to project Johnson right now, he could easily become a top 4 dman or just as easily a bottom pairing or 7th dman

I think up to this point he’s developed nicely in college
Personally, i see him spending a year in the AHL bc our blue line is so deep right now (9 NHL defensemen)
But next season, i think he’ll slot in as our LD3

The good thing for him is that he’ll have a chance to be developing in the NHL without much pressure on him,
bc Samuelsson-Dahlin is pretty much locked in stone as our top pair, and he’s not climbing above Power at LD2

Kid clearly had talent though

And as far as the Russian defensemen go that i was talking about:
I’m excited to see Komarov in the AHL this season
And Novikov is apparently getting a lot more icetime (than typical for a kid his age) in the KHL, so I’m pretty interested to see him come over eventually as well

Who knows how it all turns out?
But it sure seems like things are looking very good for us moving forward

Here are my opinions, take what you will.

LW: Marjala and Cederqvist are being slept on here. Marjala I'd put over Kisakov and maybe even Poltapov. Cederqvist has great potential, the kid is big, strong, and has a lethal shot.

C: Kulich over Savoie imo, Kulich is our best prospect.

RW: Nadeau should be 3rd and Richard 4th. Richard is gonna have a good year in the NCAA, I just feel it. He really impressed me in the dev camp.

LD: Johnson 1st then Novikov.

...LD: Johnson 1st then Novikov.
Here is the bottom line.
It really does not matter which of the top three centers are better as nearly all scouting reports peg them as top 6 forwards if not top line potential.
Benson from the eye test during the 3 on 3 appears to be a sure thing in the NHL.

While the 3 on 3 is a fun event, Novikov had three goals and was the first defender back to prevent goals on three separate odd man rushes.
Johnson on the other hand is 22yo, older than Samuelsson when he received his first call up.

Buffalo will need to make some very difficult decisions in the next 3 to 4 years.
It is easy to say Olofsson, Okposo and Girgensons are the obvious candidates for the Sabres to not resign, doing this also sends a negative message that management is willing to move on from a person who spent their entire career as a Sabres.

The future is bright let's hope all of the correct decisions are made.

GOOD POST SIR

There will be some mistakes made, that’s inevitable
BUT
I think the approach Adams seems to be taking is going to minimize those mistakes

For example:
Many Sabres fans would love to see Olofsson shipped outta here, even just for a pick, and see Savoie or Kulich in the lineup asap
But keeping Olofsson- as well as bringing back both Okposo & Girgensons (another move MANY fans disapproved of)- slows down the need to rush these guys into the lineup,
thus giving the Sabres more time to look at them BEFORE they make the decisions on who to keep & who to ship out.

And that’s gonna trickle down as well, to prospects like Rousek, Kisakov, etc etc etc (there’s too many to name)

But mistakes will be made simply bc we just can’t fit ALL the talent we’ve acquired on the roster.
Again though, i really LOVE the way Adams is running this rebuild. He’s also building a juggernaut of an AHL team. And i think that helps enormously in the development of the kids, creating a winning atmosphere at the lower levels & also upping the competition just to get playin time for Rochester.

The ppl chastising Adams for not making big trades or moving out talented prospects for average NHLers (i see this all the time in regards to our goalie situation, in particular) are just being extremely shortsighted, and I’m really glad they aren’t in charge- that’s GMTM type BS that got us in this mess in the first place.

In conclusion:
2 thumbs up for Adams
Stfu to the crybaby haters (lol)
