Ducks could be really deep.

I don’t know all these players as well as Ducks fans…but I do think Ian Moore is going to remind people of Brock Faber with similar skating and maturity.

Should be solid #2RD someday.

Couldn't agree Moore (i hate myself for that). I'm really high on him and debated putting him above Warren

Yeah, I know about the CHL dman three-peat. Ducks have a bright future.

Two of the best evaluators of young defensive talent, Jim Tortarella and Ryan Hardy, have both singled out Moore as the real deal. Since then, he has been selected to World Junior team (ahead of more heralded prospects), has led Harvard in ice time, and was recently named their captain as a junior. He is not going to pile up points the way some in juniors can…but has delivered in every other way. It’s a hill I want to stay on…so yes, I still say Moore> Luneau.

As a Ducks fan, I'm kind of worried about Moore pulling a Thrun. I know there isn't the same kind of logjam at RD as they have with LD, but still. From the player's perspective, why not pick a spot where you have less competition?

Would like to add that Moore is also a heady Harvard guy like Thrun, so he likely has better personal business acumen than the median NHLer.

Both of Moore’s parents are very successful as well, so it’s like the reverse of the old Ivy draft curse.

(Ivy draft curse was a thing in 1980s and 1990s where scouts would tell Ivy League players, “we will either draft you in 1st round or not at all”. In short, kids from top schools were less likely to grind away for 5+ years in the Coast, Int’l or American leagues).

Thrun, Fox, Kerfoot, Vesey…wanted shortest path to make it…in a way, the counter-action how teams acted earlier.
