Do you have some knowledge on when or if Murray is coming back. He has missed almost an entire year in the past due to a concussion and that knock he took at the end of the season was no joke, Raymond fell and took Murray's leg out from under him and he smashed the back of his head on the ice. It was really bad. So what happens? No idea, right now it sounds like it's a very long term situation. I certainly hope he gets healthy. In season, its highly likely other players get hurt at times and who knows what happens but to start the season the leafs cap situation is fine.

But perhaps it's wise to read what people write here so you can do some homework. Because you have so far been spouting off a bunch of incorrect stuff. May want to do some more homework.

I know you are absolutely dying to see the leafs implode and it's making you so so so angry that they are not in a situation you are praying for but take it out on someone else. Because this is just sad now. Here's some homework for you, study what irony means. Because you have been a terrific example of it. Calling people stupid for "not doing homework" while blatantly spouting off 100% wrong things doesn't make you look like you think it makes you look.

Like remember when you said it's illegal to run a 20 man roster? Well a 20 second Google search showed us just how much homework you didn't do and still refuse to even acknowledge. Maybe you are too young and inexperienced to understand this. Hopefully you commit to working harder on your homework, it'll serve you well.

Look at my account… my second favourite team is the leafs. I’m just realistic. I’m not going through that you’re just embarassing yourself at this point. I read “ Do you have some knowledge on when or if Murray is coming back.” and realized that you are not only making things up, but you’re genuinely believing the things you’re making up and there’s no arguing with a clown like that. I can tell the homework line made you pretty mad - maybe if you knew what you were talking about it wouldn’t offend you.
Facts:
- leafs are 2 million over the cap with a full roster even with Murray on LTIR (which he is more likely coming off from than not) regardless of your pure speculation which is exactly what that is. Speculation is you assuming something which you don’t know for sure. You are assuming Murray will come back which is extremely unrealistic. Hell, you don’t even know what the injury is!
- You are assuming that Murray isn’t coming back with no concrete information - zero. You and the rest of you are praying he’s hurt for the season and it’s disgusting to me it’s shown me a lot about your fan base.
- this is why players don’t want to play in Toronto because you fans only care about yourselves and your own satisfaction and you wonder why there’s no pride in their players. The only time players want to play there is to be close to home.

Okay there's a lot to unpack here. Firstly I want to say that it's absolutely appalling to put words into people's mouths accuse people of praying someone is hurt. I personally have a connection to Matt Murray, he's a terrific person and I hope he comes back from whatever is keeping him out indefinitely and he's back to what he can be. I am still a fan, go look at my last couple AcGM posts, pretty sure I had Murray over Samsonov on a couple of them. But that doesn't really matter. No one here is wishing injury on anyone, well perhaps you. The venom you're firing off on here is next level.

So with that said, you need to take a deep breath, chill out and just read some stuff.

Waive Timmins and you have a 20 man roster, which I have already proven is completely something teams have done in the past, including this very team we are currently debating whether or not it legal for them to do. (Your words)

As of right now, they can run a 20 man roster and start the season under the cap. Is it optimal? No, but it's workable. What happens if Murray comes back? I don't know, that is, and I really hope you've stayed with me because this is really important, that is all just speculation. No one has said for sure whether or not Muzzin will ever play again. What if JT gets hurt in camp and will miss 10 games? Now we are way under the cap. Who knows what will happen? I don't, and I don't pretend to, I am just objectively looking at what the current situation is and have said nothing beyond that topic.

As for the homework comment. That was just pure fun, you still have no idea how ironic this whole thread has become. This whole time you've been blasting off trying to push me into somehow admit to hoping Murray is hurt bad or whatever truly gross accusations you wanted to throw. You've said wrong things several times and clearly don't have a grasp on how the cap works, waivers, call ups and roster moves work. But you tell other people to do their homework. You failed the quiz and are telling the kids who passed to do their homework.

So just learn a lesson here. Don't go around accusing people of some really appalling stuff unless it's truly warranted. If you read this far you should understand just how odd base you've been. Do better and next time, and I can't stress this enough, do your homework.

Again, you managed to type an essay without answering my question…. How come you said the leafs have no cap troubles anymore because they put Murray on ir. That would be the only reason that they would not have to make a trade like I did in this ACGM. If your hope wasn’t that Murray was going to return, then you would recognize that there is real concern for the leafs cap situatuon right now, and they must make a trade like this. If the leafs were to have one injury, suspension, literally anything all season long, they would be in for a panic trade in which they would have zero leverage or they would be in for a massive fine. Those are the facts. If you’re gonna sit there and back track what you were saying in the beginning and change your opinion to if Murray is hurt long term or not, then do me a favour and say ‘you were right, I was wrong, the leafs must make a trade like this’. Again, i know you’re new to the app if there’s any other questions I can help answer for you feel free to ask since you refuse to do your homework.

What I have been saying, and very clearly laid out in the paragraph you absolutely didn't read, is that right now, with all the information we currently have. The leafs will start the season cap compliant with a 20 man roster. That's what I am said, have continued to say and am saying again now.

We don't know Murray's situation, we only know he's out indefinitely. Anything beyond that fact is pure speculation. Literally everything you keep saying is pure speculation. Murray being out indefinitely and going on LTIR is a fact right now. It's not speculation.

Any injury, suspension or whatever else you want to say could happen is speculation. And you seem to have a problem with speculation despite peddling it with viscous anger.

What happens if Murray comes back? Yeah they may have to make a trade, depending on the situation at the time. I can't predict the future, neither can you, so how about let's just not pretend to. Because all you are doing is getting mad because no one is agree with your speculation.

Also speaking of facts, if you run a 20 man roster and someone gets hurt, you do get emergency injury replacements that don't count against the cap. There are some caveats to that which pose problems, like if a guy is hurt in warmups, then you play a man short. I think it may be the same if it happens before a game is played in general. Meaning a guy tweeks a muscle at practice you have to play a man short and then get a free call up. All of this information is pretty easy to find.

And as I have mentioned and also provided a nice little link laying or all out for how the leafs and other teams started the season last year, this has been done. Specifically by the team you are adamant has to make a bad trade because they are not cap compliant despite 100% being that.

Do some homework man.

There is not back tracking here, just re-explaining what the actual facts are. Stop speculating, stop lashing out and please for the sake of your own image, just do some googling, it's not hard.

Oh and one last thing, I haven't ever in any of this ridiculous conversation, said that I know what's going on with Murray, I just keep saying the same thing. Murray is out indefinitely. To go on LTIR, the team, the player and the league all have to agree it's warranted. They are far more strict about this after Chicago and Tampa used LTIR as a loophole to go way over the cap with Kucherov and Kane remaining "injured" until the playoffs. If Murray is indeed healthy, he wouldn't be on LTIR, he wants to play. I hope get regains his health and I hope comes back better than ever. He's a great person and a terrific goalie when healthy. I hope he gets back there. But to comment further is pure speculation and I am not going to do that. Haven't yet and won't moving forward.
