Pesce and skjei offer way more to Carolina and their defence then Karlsson would.

Personally I don’t think any team should make a move for Karlsson until they see how he starts this season off, I got a good feeling he will come back to earth next year

There’s a lot of other types of packages. It’s doubtful pesce waives to go to SJS and also doubtful sharks want this type of return. Sure they could try to flip both guys but teams in their position generally get futures or there’s a third team involved.

I agree, Pesce and Skjei aren't overly likely to waive, despite both being pending UFA's, but who are the Canes honestly going to move to make the money work in an EK65 trade without severely compromising their forward ranks?

They’d probably move one of them but I’d imagine to a different team. Depending on retention if they clear one of them that should free up enough space. Rumors about turbo being shopped are popping up too. Although I think that’s more so to move him to clear cap for Tara or another F via trade.

Honestly, I'm not sure replacing Turbo with Taresenko is an improvement. They should only look at moving Teravainen if he's asking for too much money, which he's not really in a good position to demand considering he is coming off of a more pedestrian season by his standards

I agree, just based off of some of the noise coming from around the team it sounds like they’re keeping options open to bring another top 9 piece and turbo is one of the guys they’re looking to offload if necessary.

It’s also not a very canes like move with this front office. They rarely sell low on guys and turbo is a good bounce back candidate - had some injuries and personal stuff last season and is in a contract year. I don’t think they realistically extend him until next summer, but I also don’t think they move him unless a clear upgrade is coming in.

Yep. Which is why moving pesce has made less sense to me. I get if we get ek it makes some sense but playing Skjei third pair seems like a waste.
