I don't like that SJS trade. My instinct is for the sharks to say no

What is with your obsession with 34 year old Couture? They should be paying US to take his contract...

Yes, two-way centers who produce well offensively are paid to be given away.... he's not Johansson or Duchene.

He's been productive with a bunch of nobodies on his wings. I'd have to imagine he could do even more with players like JT and Boeser.

He isn't Johansson or Duchene, but he is older and more expensive. Giving up a 1st when he shouldn't even get more than future considerations is just a true Jim Benning move. Also he is not a 2 way center. His defensive anayltics were below replacement level. Also you didn't even fix any holes on the roster. Not even using him as our 3C. Instead you are pushing Miller to the wing and making the roster even worse with a worse future. Terrible

His top linemates were Matt Kieto, Eyssimont and Barabanov.... And he still produced a tremendous amount at 5v5. Of course his defensive numbers will be poor on a terrible team.

The conditions make it likely a second. While also keeping flexibility given expiring deals for Myers and Cole going ahead.

Having Couture at 7 mil from 34-38 is simply a terrible idea. The Canucks signed Miller for ages 30-34 knowing that 34-37 would be terrible. Now we are going ahead and spending assets on a guy who is about to decline and eats up a lot of our cap? Jim Benning alert. I'm glad you aren't the GM or I'd have to find another team to cheer for

Lol I don't disagree. I had enough Garland/Mathieu on the ACgm timeline and went on a tangent.

Admittedly though, if this team went to WCF with Couture, it would be a lot of fun. Whether it's Jimbo or Allvin, Aquilini only has so much patience.
