Description
hostile offer to Draisaitl, loose big piece of heart and soul for much neded left D ( gallagher for leddy) grit for goals (shaw for marchessault) and if Lars eller was worth 2 second rd pick pretty sure even with his contract pleckanec could fetch two 3rd but even if it came down to only a 4th or 5th rd

Pretty good actually.

1- NYI trade makes sense and probably would work in the real world. He has a lot of value and interest around GM's and coaches in the league.
2- VGK trade would make me crazy happy, but I'm not sure it's in line with what their management is looking for. If they took Marchessault as picks bait, why would they just receive another player 1-for-1 with similar value?
3- LAK trade works, can fetch a 4th rounder easy, possibly 3rd but that's a stretch
4- ARI trade is overblown. As you said, he could definitely grab two 5th rounders, but I'm iffy about 4th rounders, and certain about 3rd rounders being a no-no. Plek is at the twilight of his career with one year left on his contract. Then again, ARI seems to be in a super-accelerated rebuild old-age-infusion process right now, so who knows... But any other team, and that's a no.
5- Radulov wanted term more so than cap hit. Seems we're talking 5-6 years, almost cemented. At 4yrs, he likely will want nothing less than 7M (which is a bummer). I'd be happy if we took him at 6.25 for 6 years though, sounds good to me.
6- Markov signing for 1yr is smart, long-term cap-wise, but seems that Markov is cemented on 2 year deal... We'll see.
7- Seems like what it takes to nab Draisaitl (above 9M) possibly. Just don't forget to send in the compensation picks, since this is an offer sheet. I think it's something more than a first rounder for that price.

yeah below 9.2 its two 1rst and two 2nd didnt see where i could put that in and yeah i was hoping for the best with plekcanec but would still take a 4th and 5th no worries the las vegas trade is banking on the fact that with such a new and potentially young team they would like some leadership and grit and shaw was protected so they couldnt pick him betcha they wouldve if both players were on same team and both not protected , as for radulov id be inclined to go 6 years if he would sign for 6 mil or 4 years 6.750 but im betting on him seeing the new additions and saying , yeah i wanna be a part of this but still have cap room for the salary bump and willing to go 6 years if its what ittakes

A guy who has never scored 50 points and a second don't get you the Islanders best d-man.

You probably wouldn't trade Weber for Nelson and a second, don't expect the Islanders to do the same.

If I'm not mistaken, you would be giving up 4 first rounders to Edmonton as if the length of the contract is over 5 years, it is the total cap hit divided by 5 to determine to compensation given.
So in this case 8 x 9,100,000 = 72,800,000. 72,800,000 / 5 = 14,560,000. So you guys would be put in the highest compensation bracket and I doubt you would be willing to give up 4 1sts for Draisaitl. I would if we were in a cap crunch like the Isles are. In our current state though, of course that kind of trade offer gets a scoff and a big no.
Sure, you're not the Blackhawks right now, but the following offseason looks like a hellhole according to this:

leddy in my view has about same value as hamonic looking at what they got for hamonic im thinking the value isnt far off now if the NYI are willing to trade leddy or not is another question but i think gallagher is highly regarded throughout the league and brings much more than his pts . dont see nelson with same value and im pretty sure weber has more value than leddy but that could be my biased view from a habs fan
