I replaced Pierre Dorion as the Sens GM and it's over, no more abuse from other teams.
Straight up NO

That's the issue with dealing with the flyers right now. that's the most I'd pay and I don't think that gets it done. even then I'm not thrilled about the player
That would be very stupid, basically giving up 2 second round picks + Boucher (who I value as a 3rd)
Laughton quickly became the most OVERRATED player on this forum, like it's insane
He has slightly inflated offensive numbers (which are still not very good vs opportunity + PP) with Brady Tkachuk like ice-time
He gets that opportunity on a terrible team but in Ottawa he become a bottom-6 forward again.
The MAX I would give is Joseph + Thomson OR Sokolov
Laughton is an upgrade offensively on Joseph (1.45 pts/60 at ES vs 1.18 pts/60 the last 2 years) but a downgrade defensively and particularly on the PK.
I wouldn't pay more than that for the difference between the 2.
Any GM giving up a "package" to get an average 3rd liner is a dumb idiot
Sens traded amuch better version in Connor Brown 1 year ago for a 2024 second... Reilly Smith just got traded for a 3rd... Bjorkstrand (vastly superior) was traded for a 3rd + 4th last year. Duclair got a 5th + 4th liner...
I mean, please give me ONE reason why Laughton would be massively more valuable than these guys?

Losing Boucher as part of a deal for Konecny would be acceptable to me, but for Laughton? Nah. I'd rather just sign a UFA for the 3rd line.
Of course, I'd rather sign Zach Aston-Reese over making that stupid trade. At least ZAR could have elite defensive metrics
