Brodie and Pesce are very similar stylistically, and Brodie is a tad bit better defensively, with minimal offensive production. However, Brodie was pretty ass in the playoffs, and a bigger and younger Pesce(also cheaper) mixes the D up. Dumba adds more offence and physical play on a 1-year deal. Toews isn't expected to get a bag, so Leafs get him for under a million with 3 ELITE players at the dot, while also bringing leadership, 2-way presence and a bit of offence. Sammy signs a bridge deal likely in the ball park off what he makes due to arbitration. All in all, Leafs add defence, size, offence, grit, and overall, a harder better team which can be tinkered with good AHL talent and a few picks.
