If Nylander puts up the same strong season in 23-24 as the season previous I think he could reach 10m on his next contract, but 9m - 9.5m seem a more likely outcome to me.
I think it's quite clear that DeBrincat isn't quite as good as Timo Meier, but he does have a QO worth 9m.
Given how Meier's long-term AAV came in a fair bit under his 10m QO it wouldn't be unreasonable for DeBrincat's next contract to unfold the same way.
Similarly, Caufield, Fiala and Bratt all signed for 7.875m on their long-term deals so that may indicate a template or baseline for RFA 1st line winger extensions.
With all that in mind I feel like the most fair comparable for a long-term DeBrincat extension should be that of Kyrou's and Thomas's, 8.125m x 7-8 years.
