No thanks on Compher. We already overpaid Jarry. Don’t want to overpay a guy that had one outlier season playing top 6 on a stacked Avs team. Nope. Also, Ruhwedel is a 7th defenseman. Nothing more, nothing less. Should not be in the top 6.

That money can easily be spent on another guy at 3C then Compher but he’s the best option on the market right now, hence why I made that signing.

Chad can play night after night on the third pair, he’s serviceable and again, plays on a cheap contract and can be replaced.

15.8M in Salary going back to Sharks plus the 3.5M retention would make it a tough deal for Sharks, would need a couple deals in place for Ruuta/Petry and DeSmith/Khakonen, I can see why the 3rd team aspect got rumored.

A team with Ruhwedel as a regular in the starting line up is not a championship winning team. And I like Chad. I agree that we need another top 9 guy, but no thanks on Compher. This season was an outlier. Someone will overpay him. Hopefully not us.

I'm very confused by this Lars Eller contract that we just handed out. So many good young unqualified RFA's and this one just makes the team older. Overall a fan of what Dubas has done today, but that one is a real head scratcher
