Seems pretty likely that we just roll with this for next season. I’d imagine Doug is still trying to reconstruct the D a bit but the way salary has been moving/not moving makes me thing it’s not going to be possible. Especially considering all the NTC’s.

Unless a massive resurgence in the D with the new coaching staff happens, we’re in trouble again. Not quite bad enough to get a top 5 pick but think we’re gonna miss the playoffs and end in the 14-18 range. Potential to sell players like Vrana and Kapanen at the TDL. Hopefully can get 2nds out of them.

Taxi squad: guys I think are close and will likely get some games this year. Dean and Bolduc aren’t too far off, a year in the A with a few NHL games and then make the jump full time next season. Snuggy will probably be ready next season too although I’m not opposed to a year in the AHL. Bitten will probably be like a 15th forward. Some of those others may get time due to injury and stuff. None of them are really NHL quality players yet.

Draft thoughts: We did okay. Happy with Dvorsky at 10. Really wish we grabbed Musty at 25 instead of Stenberg but I’m not upset with the pick. Rather disappointed with Lindstein at 29. Think he’s a good player but not sure there’s a ton of room for growth to elevate his game. Likely a bottom pairing D. Burns is meh. I really like the Pekarcik pick. Youngest kid in the draft with high compete and a good frame. But of a project but think he can be a potentially be a solid middle 6 guy. Fischer might be able to be a 3rd pairing guy or 7th dman at some point. Don’t know much about the others but from what I’ve seen nothing super exciting.
