Umm... I mean I'm sure you can add some more but you're are undercounting defensive impact which Pesce excels at. I know that Nylander is better but I think Pesce is a lot closer than you give him credit for.

Pesce would be a top pairing defenseman on the best defensive unit in the leauge except for the fact the guy in front of him is a future HOFer and has a Norris

Of course you'll say that but the reality is he isn't. Larsson actually has some qualities that Pesce lacks. Larsson is very physical, pesce isn't overly physical. Pesce is a better skater but he's not much better offensively and gets called defensive because he does well in his system. Pesce is the new Parayko who we can all see isn't as good as people think. Slavin is the guy in Carolina if he were to leave then Pesce would get exposed. Put him anywhere where he gets bigger expectations and he will falter. He isn't close to Nylander stop this

It's Carolinas system man. He's a good part of it but he isn't the reason. The whole 5 man unit does well. By himself he's not all that special

You guys give Pesce all the credit for the system he plays in. Put him on a different team that isn't as good defensively and doesn't have Slavin on the team and his effectiveness drops big time. He's not the guy who makes it all happen. He the guys that benefits from the other 5 guys on the ice.

He plays with Brady Skjei lol, not Devon Toews or Roman Josi. For the QoC Pesce plays against and how plastered he gets in minutes he's actually one of the leagues better DFD's. Combine that with the ability to still move the puck and score 30 points, he's very good.

Pesce actually played a more difficult role than Slavin this season, and Slavin's metrics dipped a bit. Still, Pesce is great. Your bias is stemmed from seeing Nylander for Pesce trades and it blinds you. I think Carolina might have to add a sweetener to that, but it's not as far off as you think.
