Sure, could cost more, but with the number of players wanting out of Calgary their leverage is pretty limited in most cases. The returns they see for a lot of those guys might be underwhelming.

Granlund is a serviceable player with no trade protection, and will be flipped for a late pick or future considerations to a team looking to get to the cap floor.
