Didn't see that trade coming

Créé par: palhal

Description
Almost like a deadline trade..veteran for prospects. Guess the Leafs aren't tanking as many suggest.
Leafs now have 46 pro contracts, so it looks like they had to rid themselves of 4 AHLers and Beck.
Leafs do have young depth in AHL, and can only hope that erratic Grabner plays well so he can be traded at deadline. Lots of Marlies will be Leafs in the next 1/2/3 years. (hopefully)

I wouldn't say this trade is an indication of the leafs not tanking. They are just freeing up contracts so they can sign all their PRO players and then ship em out at the deadline for picks for Hunter. After which they will tank hard.

If the Leafs are bad, I wonder what the value of these players the Leafs would like to trade. If the Leafs are good (well, Leaf good) and might make the playoffs, do the Leafs not make the expected deadline deals, so that the younger playoffs get the "playoff experience". McJesus, can you tell us....you know, foretold.

They were pretty bad last year so it all depends on individual performance really. I don't think they will have much problem moving out all the 1 year deals they signed/will still sign.

I also have a feeling Lupul might have to suck it up and play RW, anyone know if Babcock prefers players to play on their correct side? We have A LOT of lefty shots.
