Leafs certainly are trading Liljgeren and his years of control for one year of Hanifan straight up, and you want to add? Timmins has hope, but shouldn't be slotted in as a regular next season replacing Liljigren. No thanks to Accaril at 3rd line centre.....fourth line winger is his spot. Lafferty never played centre for the Leafs, he's a winger too.

Hanifin is a massive upgrade over liljegren. He is probably the top available D on the trade market and if you want 50% retention you have to over pay. That allows them to fill other holes in the lineup.

Acciari and laf are both capable of playing center. They both did with the teams they were on before the leafs. The only reason they didn’t last season is that we had matthews, Tavares, O’Reilly and kampf who were all better options down the middle. Can’t afford the raises that both oreilly and kampf are going to get.
