To dump JT it would cost you Marner. So add in Matthews and Nylander and Edmonton considers.

Why not wait until the year after and sign him in FA? Gotta think he wants to play for his childhood team & centre of the hockey universe before he hangs them up

If he wants out, he's picking his landing point which is going to crush the return. There is no winning a trade where Edmonton is forced to move him.

Why wouldnt he want to play for the Leafs. They have had so much success in recent years.

Only division with 4 teams with 100 points or more. Only division with three teams in the second round. But yeah its a weak division.

This year - it was better, kudos. Probably why oil crashed out in 2nd round.
Who knows? Maybe he loves life in Edmonton but McDavid is a Toronto kid and the Leafs & HNIC are still a big draw for Ontario born players 🤞
