Decline easily? Makes back end much stronger, Necas is no Marner but 72 pts last year playing with KK as his center, + 4 mil in cap space to potentially keep oreilly/bunting or sign big ufa.

Marner is also better defensively and an elite pker. leafs lost because they couldnt score not because lack of D. People really dont watch the leafs enough to year after year say its d. but that narrative hasnt been true for like 2-3 years.

I generally don't think Marner to the Canes is super realistic, but they'd have to consider this is Pesce wasn't open to a reasonable extension. It would have to be Necas vs Jarvis in my opinion.

I 100% agree with you if we only consider regular season. Marner was invisible in the playoffs again, and holl/gio/mccabe were all liability's for most of the playoffs.

he wasnt good no, but if he was invisible then what does that make necas? holls gone, gio will be the 7th d. mccabe was awful in the florida series but he was good in the tampa series
