The team doesn’t get any better up front by trading Necas and swap him with CAT. They are in a lot of ways the same player. Saros is a boost but this is an underwhelming team. Also what are we paying a guy $7,000,000 to play 3LD?

The contact is just to get us through until Nikishin can sign an NHL contract. We have the cap space so why not yk. Also he would be quarterbacking PP2 so 3LD doesn't tell the whole story.

He's probably not going to accept that offer anyways but at that point it's better to just gamble on OEL even though he can't play defense and probably acquiring Hellebuyck for less over Saros, the Jets also have a ton of defenders so maybe can rent Dillon as well. Alternatively, could probably acquire Ullmark+a LD from Boston.

Either way you can get a solid tender and fill LD without giving up Necas and having to play DeBrincat on his off wing.

I'd think NSH takes that deal. Go get Saros a cup.
