I don't see Columbus offering a massive package to move for EP40. I mean Nikishin isn't on the table and the offer I did is way more than fair considering Morrow's potential as a top-pairing defenseman on top of the 2 top-six wingers that I already offered. Teravainen is a good fit because he's a very good PKer and you guys need that considering how awful your PK was last year but I can totally see the argument that it might be too many wingers on that team

I think Columbus could. Jarmo seems to want to compete now, and adding an elite 1C would be a big help.

Your offer is more than fair, but the Canucks would want multiple high end pieces if they consider moving EP40. If you want someone as good as Pettersson, you have to be willing to move your best prospect. The Canucks would have all the leverage

That would absolutely idiotic on Columbus's part considering even with EP40 they would be fringe playoff contenders

Okay so pick two other high-end Carolina prospects in addition to Morrow... Nikishin is a future defenseman with the potential of a top-five defenseman. I mean Ville Koivunen, Jack Drury, and Noel Gunler (3 of our top 5 prospects) together added should be more than worth the exclusion of Nikishin

The Canucks wouldn’t want quantity, they would want quality. Which is why Nikishin would have to be included

Those three forwards are quality forwards... Drury needs a change of scenery and still has top-six potential, Gunler and Koivunen are both top-six potential but just can't find a roster spot with the top half of the Hurricanes lineup being so crowded... That could potentially be half of a top-six you get on top of two top-six forwards in Tuevo and Necas. Those are more than enough quality not to include Nikishin and still get EP40

Those prospects arent quality for EP. We wouldn’t have the pieces to get it done. Columbus and a few others would beat us easily

I mean besides Columbus... I can't see a team with the pieces opting to trade for EP. Columbus might but that's only because they are desperate to save jobs and might end up setting back their franchise for four or five years

Any team with a top 15 pick and a good farm will beat us. Buffalo has some better pieces. Detroit would be aggressive. A couple of others would be there

I mean the Hurricanes have a good farm... their pipeline is #12 if I remember correctly and we have some prospects to give away... namely Nikishin (who's according to projections has the #1 chance of being a star), and Morrow. I'm looking for ways to trade for massive pieces without having to completely mortgaging our future

JT Miller is the type of player Carolina needs in the playoffs, you watch next season. And the Canucks could use Aho, who will likely not stay in Carolina long term

That's still an awful trade for carolina. Really bad for them

We are 12th on depth. We have a top 5: nikishin, Morrow, koochie, blake, and drury. Then we have a ton of depth that is so close in ratings from 10-27 that we could almost rate them anywhere in that bunch. We don’t have much as far as A prospects to interest Vancouver

I mean Morrow is a top-50 prospect and Nikishin is a potential top-five defenseman. Those are more than good enough prospects along with some picks and top-six forwards should be enough
