Skinner is not waiving to go to where the Yotes are going to play. The Yotes would also have zero interest in taking on Skinners contract.

Oddly enough I think they would do that if they didn't have to include Skinner and break up the top line.

I'm not sure Skinner is worth a ton. He can score and control play but he is one of the worst forwards at preventing goals in the NHL. Couple that with his 9MM per year, I don't think he has that kind of value.

Oloffson is probably worth a 3rd

The real value here is Savoie and the 1st

If Ari is planning on eating half of both contracts and trade Skinner / Oloffson for more picks, it might make sense. If they're not going full rebuild, I don't see this happening.

Skinner isn't value here, it's mostly Savoie and 13th for Keller

At first, I think so, especially with how stacked this draft class is, but how good of a financial situation this puts Buffalo in should be noted. Keller is on an incredible deal during the peak years of the team's current lineup. Skinner is 31 and going to only get worse / become a burden with his cap during our peak years even though I love him. Let's not undersell Keller's incredible 5 on 5 production on a very poor team. Is it an overpay? Most likely, but is it horrible for the sabres? That's where I'd disagree as getting rid of a contract that will weigh this team down while adding one of the best 5 on 5 wingers in the league on an amazing contract with term without giving up a core asset is definitely at least in thought a positive move. Now it would never happen due to other factors but ~ it did I think it would end up being positive for the sabres, as Keller's don't grow on trees and the team would be in a better financial situation with a better/younger winger, with an abundance of forward prospect/talent already to replace savoie in the system
