As a blue jackets fan this is not something JARMO would accept, we will not trade away Dumais for Marner. That's stupid.

Why is it stupid? I like Dumais a lot, I think he has a ton of potential. But Marner is a known quantity, an elite winger in the league. Jarmo would absolutely jump at getting a player like Marner, considering the rumors he offer sheeted Marner a few years ago.

Why would it be limited to 2 years? You can't know that. The Jackets have a top 3 prospect pool, many of whom are already playing valuable NHL minutes. They are getting a 1C in the draft. Getting Mitch would give the Jackets Marner, Laine, Gaudreau, and Marchenko as their top 4 wingers. That's insanity. PP1 would be lethal. Marner would be coming into a team on the rise and one rising quickly. There would be a lot to entice him to stay. Woo him the first year he's here, and then work out an extension. Jackets need to nail the head coach hire and then the sky's the limit honestly.
