I doubt CHI does that. I don't think there is anything any team could offer that would get CHI to change their rebuild plan and pass on Bedard.

Quick I need popcorn because I cannot wait to see the reactions here.

My take is quantity does not equal quality. It's basically Suzuki for Bedard because Slafkovsky and the 1st rounders are unproven.

Chicago should definitely consider this.

This would give them 4 1st round picks in this years draft, a top line center in Suzuki and the former 1st overall in Slaf.

While Bedard is the best in a while, Michkov/Carlsson/Smith is a very good consolation prize with 5th overall.
At 16 they hope that Moore is still available.
They already have Tampa's 1st which is 19th overall-- Simashev could be a wild card pick and potentially a second russian that wouldn't be able to come over for another few year (helps the long term rebuild).
Taking Nadeau with Florida's end of round pick would be a good round out to the 1st round for them.

So Suzuki, Michkov, Moore (if he's available or they trade up), Simashev, Nadeau and Slaf for Bedard.. that's a massive package of both quantity and quality. None come close to Bedard but you gotta think chicago has a few different holes to fill. This would solve them.

I feel that Montreal is one of only a few teams that would even have the assets to trade for 1st overall without completely dismantling their team in the process. Now would Chicago actually accept it? Unlikely, but you never know.
