He's worth the money as a legitimate top pair guy on most teams and has the ability to change the momentum in a game with an open ice hit. Not many players provides what he can provide.

Have you seen what they do to Leaf players when they touch someone? Trouba would have been suspended 5 times by now if he played for the Leafs. But let’s not pretend he’s worth 8 million or that he is worth anything remotely close to Mitch Marner.
