Caps are stacked at defense. They don't need 1, especially 2 defesemen.

If that is the offer from MTL then i would not trade PLD to them, i would sign him for 6 mill and retain half and send him to the highest bidder, he would fetch quite a bit i think for a full season at 3 mill.

Not so sure about that as even with retention teams will only be willing to pay a rental price since Dubois has made it clear choosing where he plays is important to him, so he likely goes UFA.

Horvat (who is a good comparison to Dubois) just went for a 1st, Beauvillier, and Raty and was promtly signed to an 8 year deal. The offer above is slightly more than that.

It may be slightly more but the need to rebuild they dont need dvorak they need to be getting rid of guys his age. they need to get younger, either take younger pieces or picks.

You still need to ice a roster and Dvorak is only 27 years old, are you saying the Jets have no use for players in there mid twenties? In this scenario the Jets can use Dvorak as a transition piece, hopefully he has a good season or two in WPG and they flip him (or maybe they want to keep him).

Kidney will likely need a year or 2 in the AHL so the timeline works perfectly with Dvorak.

Raty is a higher rated prospect than kidney

yes you need to ice a roster but why do they take on him instead of more assets, they can sign free agents for less to play for them, they need to finish at the bottom.

What's your plan on selling free agents to come play in the least desirable NHL city to live AND you expect to be one of the worst teams in the NHL? You're getting the bottom of the barrel.

Dvorak is also expendable to MTL if Dubois is coming back, it's very typical for roster players to be included in these types of deals for cap reasons (Beauvillier for Horvat, Tatar for Pacioretty, etc.).

thats what they need bottom of the barrel players for a season or two, look at arizona they are doing it right finish low and stock pile picks. Dvorak has no real value to a rebuilding team. if you take him out there really is not much value coming back for PLD. Other teams would pay more for a full season of PLD at 50% retained, a team like COL who needs a 2C.
