I think there will be some graduation for young forwards next year. It will help with cap relief getting these guys signed and being able to have them contribute. There’s also opportunity for someone to get promoted to a top 6 role between the 3 of Holloway, Lavoie, and Philp, but I like the idea of Foegele getting the first crack and easing in the young guys. Unfortunelty I think Yamo is gonna hafta move on. I’ve recycled this trade from a previous post. I think it makes the most sense for both teams. Allison would be a hard working bottom 6 stable on the right side for the Oil and Yamo can play top 6 minutes on a team that has enough size that they can afford some for some extra skill. I really hope they sign Skylar Brind’Amour to replace the 3 guys who are graduating. It’s been amazing to see how good the Oilers have been at drafting these past few years. Bakersfield should be competitive with that roster. Berezin still won’t be able to come over because of his contract in Russia, but I didn’t want to not sign him and give off the impression that I don’t think he’s an asset. As for a couple of the other draft picks, no one left off is in imminent need of a contract.
