You'll need to part ways with a first round pick on top of Filip Mesar because Jan Mysak isn't that much of interest for me.
More likely is Laffy signs 2 year 2.5 M contract because he would like to remain a NYR. Or maybe even one year for 2.5 M.
But we will see what happens.

For that price I’d rather just gamble on Laf

Horrible trade for Winnipeg and nobody's paying a 3rd for Armia or a 2nd for Hoffman with some serious retention

Since PLD already wants out and everyone already knows it I think the return for him will be way worse than it should be, Winnipeg is in a no win situation with PLD, and with montreal retaining half of Hoffmans salary I think VKG might take that trade. A third for Armia may be on the high side, but I think the other two are not crazy.

Winnipeg has zero obligation to trade PLD to Montreal. Even as a rental he has great trade value to other teams. Top 6 centers don't grow on trees and if he's moved to a contender like Colorado then he's going to try and win the cup with them

you’re right, they dont have obligations to trade him to MTL, and a contender probably would give up more for him as a rental, but his value is lowered a bit because everyone thinks he will only be a rental who is headed to MTL anyway, but yea I probably could have made the return for WPG higher, throw in a prospect or a pick or something. what kind of package do you think would work better in a trade for PLD?

Drury laughs and says no thanks. He then counter offers Zac Jones for Xhekaj and both 2023 1st round picks.

If I was Winnipeg I would accept nothing less than the return Fiala got if they are trading him to the Habs. If Montreal isn't willing to do that they can sign him as a UFA and Winnipeg can move him elsewhere
