Description
I saw another Habs fan make a post asking when the rebuild will end. In my opinion, the rebuild is ending in 2026. Montreal is going to suck for all of the years leading up to the 2025 draft where we have Calgary's first round pick, we'll trade all of the players who aren't part of the core to get more picks in this years, next years, and the 2025 draft. As we move those players out the young core players (Farrell, Hutson, Roy) will all have the chance to come up, along with all the players we pick up in the next three drafts. Even if we don't end up trading guys like Dvo, Savard, or Allen their contracts are up during the 2025 off season. All the players under the Unclear category still need to earn their place in the rebuild or we don't know how they'll be playing in 25-26 season. I'm not saying the Habs will be any good in 25-26 year, probabky will be a bit of a development year, but that's the year where we won't be tanking for draft picks and selling off pieces.

first savard has been great and he is going nowhere... maybe before the deadline just before his contract expires if the habs are not making the playoffs. Anderson is going no where he is excellent and rare. unclear players are all clear except Gurionov and Tierney as there is no room for them and they are not resigned. but other than that you have it all right.. gallagher will play until he get hurt as he is untradeable with that contract but effective when he plays..... Maybe try to trade price contract as i am sure it is insured...soemoene who need to get to the floor like chaicago...maybe after next season when we will be trying for the playoffs.

Regarding Savard and Anderson, I agree that both are great but when we're ready to contend again I think they'll be gone. In the case of Savard the defencive prospect pool is stacked, and room will probably be made for a Hutson, or a Mailloux. He's playing well right now but in 3 years after a little decline and lots of prospects nipping at his heels I think we may just part ways with him, I think the same of Matheson when he gets a little older, he regresses a bit, and he's done his job of mentoring Ghule, Barron, Xhekaj, etc. In the case of Anderson I think that he's just one of our most valuable tradable pieces, we're trying to rebuild so Anderson might just get sent out for a Kent Hughes level return. I would however wait until the last 1 or 2 years of his contract to evaluate then, he'd be much more stomachable at a lower cap hit. Tierney yes, he goes, Gurionov is an RFA and playing well since coming to MTL, so he may get a 1 year prove it deal or have his rights traded. I've always believed that Gally will play until he drops dead on the ice mid game, until that happens he's a Hab. And as much as I don't want to trade Prices contract its the right move, just the idea that even just his contract belongs to another team hurts.

Yes i would not re-sign Savard but i would keep him through next season and maybe move him at the 2025 deadline if we dont need him... Anderson is a tricky one. He is very hard to find and he is not that old. He is big and fast and loves montreal so i see us keeping him and giving him a letter becasue we need that size with speed... too many small forwards already so we keep anderson . I am high on farrell and most importantly Joshua roy.... i want to see the habs make room for roy next season so that is why we must move out hoffman and probably send Armia down...very doable...the defense is set with maybe one more RD needed in case mailloux doesnt pan out but we still need another game breaking forward and more goalies prospects.... i think we have plenty of third line and fourth line forwards with Mesar and Beck and Ylonen and HLP and Kidney etc
