Grzelcyk may well be the odd man out. That doesn’t mean they have to give him away.

Expecting lohrei to be ready for top pair minutes - or even ready for the NHL, is absurd.

I’m not sure what Grzelcyk‘s value is being that it will be probably be a draft day deal in a loaded draft that teams will want to keep their picks. Teams seem to pay less on draft day compared to the deadline which he would definitely get a first looking at this year. I wouldn’t expect much more than this.

With Lohrei, he doesn’t have to play on the top pair but this team is going to have to throw some young guys into the fire next year with the cap issues they have. I see everyone trying to trade Hall next year which would give them room to sign a defenseman but I would rather see the Bruins keep him and put him back in the top 6 on a line with Pasta where he had a lot of success last year.

The cost to unload 1 more year of Zaitsev at $4.5m was a 2nd and 4th. Unloading Reilly's remaining 1yr/$3m will probably cost more than a 6th.

If BOS wants to hold on to picks, seems to make more sense to just buy Reilly out this summer. If they need to move him ASAP you're probably looking at at least a 4th.

The only difference is Reilly is a much better player and would instantly be in Chicago’s top 4. He’s a good player would rather see him get traded before the deadline in a few hours because he is 100% an nhl player, bruins are just too deep on the back end.

If anything you just said is true about Reilly then why does BOS have to bribe someone to take him.

If he's valuable, by all means trade him and get a return for him. If he's 100% an NHL player someone should be happy to have him and pay BOS for the privilege.

Doesn’t work like that when the cap has been stagnant for an almost a decade, no one has cap room unless you’re actively tanking. As you can see I don’t think the bruins could get anything for him that’s why attached a 6th to him, 5th maybe a 4th okay not a big deal, he would be the 3rd best defender on Chicago, why wouldn’t they do that as a draft day deal when they don’t have to tank anymore after potentially getting Bedard.

Because they are loaded with D prospects. As stated before just buy him out. The cost is 333K next year and 1.333M the following year.

If you are going to dump a bad contract (I don't care if he is a legit NHL D) you have to pay. 6th doesn't do it IMO.

You conveniently clipped the part where I said a 5th or a 4th.

The Bruins don't have the space for a buyout, the hypothetical roster above have 8 roster players making under a million dollars and Bergeron at a million and that after moving Rielly and Grzelcyk.

Key word "Prospects" not ready for the nhl or they'd be playing because Chicago stinks and they stunk before they traded their best players. Gotta hit the cap floor some how.

Because they’re tanking next year too. And the year after that. And the year after that.
