Description

Dallas Stars should be in a win now mode, but with three goalies signed, they could use cap space towards free agency. They dump salary with Niemi, giving Toronto its backup. They also get a player in Kapanen that goes right into their lineup. Leafs are compensated for this with the 3rd overall pick, and assuming Hischier and Patrick go 1&2, this allows them to draft Liljegren, that RH D they need, and another pick.

Welcome to CP Arm-Chair mode. When you scroll down the page, once you pick your team, you will see three blue buttons, one is for a TRADE, one is for SIGN RFA/UFA and one is for CREATE PLAYER. That is where you will find sub-menus to add UFAs and RFAs. As for your plan, Timothy Liljegren will not get drafted 3rd overall by any team. If the Leafs truly wanted him, they could probably get him 9th or 10th. At 3rd overall, there are a number of better options available.
