Sheary had 1 goal in January and 0 through 9 games in February. I know he's a pedigree guy, but I can't see Guerin giving up a 2023 2nd for him. I like Sheary but that's a tough sell.

Add a trade of one of Gus, Jensen, or TvR...and this is pretty good overall.

Totally hear ya - my thinking was a 40pt guy who is known by management, can play anywhere in the lineup and can still get close to 20 goals this year may be worth it considering his extremely manageable cap hit (important for Minny obviously) and the fact that Minny has been acquiring draft capital through third party brokering.

Yeah I don't necessarily think a 2nd is ridiculous, especially given Sheary's 2 cups. We all know GMs love that. But Guerin is on record saying he's not trading his 1st or 2nd for a rental player. Would be a weird statement to have to walk back for Sheary. And obviously he could extend him, but with our cap situation? I just dont' see it.

IMO, a 2024 3rd and a mid prospect is the best he'd offer.
