Don’t see how this is an overpay tbf. Honestly not sure this is that great of an offer. Borque, Harley and the 1st are fine, Hakanpaa is just a body and the 2nd covers the Khudobin cap dump. I don’t think it’s a bad offer but this is not an overpay.

Tbh I think it’s perfectly fair for both sides, was just covering my ass lmao and tbh that’s pretty solid value for Chychrun. Is there no blue chip guy? Sure. But the 1st, Bourque, and Harley are all very valuable assets. I think Hakanpaa has value around the league (although I don’t think he should he’s horrible) due to being a huge RHD, and yeah Khudobin is there to make the cap work. If Arizona is dead set on getting an elite prospect over a few pretty valuable pieces I could see them looking elsewhere

Let's say Nill don't want to pay the high price for Chychrun, would you be interrested in something around Edmundson (50% retain) for Bourque? MTL could add a pick to balance.

Nah I don’t think so. I think Bourque projects to be a solid middle 6 centre/2nd line centre so I don’t think they’d consider Edmundson. Edmundson would likely bump Hakanpaa out of the lineup which would be an upgrade for sure but I don’t know how much it moves the needle. If dallas were to be in on Edmundson I could see them moving a lower tier prospect like a Stranges + a mid round pick

Yeah understand. If you look at my profile picture, you'd guess i'm probably the biggest Bourque fan out here, and I'm probably the one who saw him play the most, so of course I know what he's capable of! I would really like to have him in MTL's prospects pool.

Unfortunately I don’t think Montreal has anything for sale that could net Bourque, maybe Anderson and half salary? though his stats are fantastic this year and it would still be risky for Dallas. Change of scenery may fix things but it would likely be too much money retained for MTL for too long, and I’m not sure how much interest Dallas would have in him for that long, but a 2.75 price tag for 5 years could be intriguing 🤔

Yeah sadly MTL don't have anything attractive for this TDL (we still may be surprise, Dadonov was playing so bad we've all been surprised we got something for him) And you're right I don't see us retaining anything on Anderson's contract, Hughes already said he like him and unless it's a very very good offer he'll likely stay a canadian. Also, I don't think Anderson's value only shows it offensive stats, he's a very gritty player, hits hard, drives the net, of course he's not much productive but just like Jeannot, Anderson could be a very good playoffs asset, just sad his contract his hard to manage.
