At those prices, I think Washington (or another suitor) would well outbid Boston on Hathaway and TvR.

Thats the point, they put 2 mil of the overages on this years cap (I've seen other people on here do it, idk if it's a thing or not)

TvR sure but Hathaway has said his dream was to be a bruin and Sweeney is known for getting players to take pay cuts

I know he grew up a bruins fan but at the same time he could just go right back to DC to play with his best friend and in an area he already knows. banking on the hope that the GM would convince a player to take a paycut on what could very well be his last good opportunity to get more than 1 mil on an NHL contract seems unlikely, to say the least.

They are still using LTIR and won’t come close to accruing enough cap space when Letteri is healthy.
They should be able to absorb Swayman performance bonus though.
