Karlsson is a great story but no way am I taking that contract

You wouldn't take 4 years of Karlsson at 7.5m? The Wings are on the cusp of entering the window to compete and norris candidates don't exactly fall off of trees. In my opinion trading for him makes more sense then going after any defenseman without years of term left on their deal. He's an elite player who would be a instant boost to our powerplay and a veteran presence which this team desperately needs as it nears playoff contention.

I don't think he'll hold up honestly, love the player, glad he's been awesome but if I'm giving up a boat load of assets it's not for a 32 year old dman.

Not really, they aren’t going to need that cap because I’d say they are going to go full rebuild within the next 2-3 years

If they are rebuilding what does it matter if they have cap space or not? No they aren’t moving Karlsson just to move him, he’s a 100 point dman this year

Key words “this year”. He was in a 5 year slump, just because he’s great this year is doesn’t mean he will be able to keep this up after being traded (which caused the first slump)

5 year slump? He put up 204 points in 282 games in the prior 5 seasons, that’s still a .72 ppg pace or 60 points a season. He was also hurt half that time. Nice try though

He’s absolutely worth it when healthy like this year. Also this trade has 35% retention making his cap hit $7.5 mil. Are you trying to say a playing going to put up 100 points isn’t worth $7.5 mil?

Would you take on 7.5m for an injury prone player? Also would you give up all these good assets? Think of it as taking on druin lol
