More of a “hockey” trade which:

1) Balances the financial impact for both teams this year.
2) Defense:
- Oilers: Bolsters the D right now to help towards a cup in the near term (plus I’d personally love to see Nurse and Parayko paired together)
- Blues: Starts the reboot of the Blues D with a young player who the team can build around and fills what would otherwise be a hole on the right side.
3) Forward:
- Oilers: Get a proven, versatile player who can play on any line (although truly more a bottom 9 player) in any forward position and who plays playoff hockey.
- Blues: Get a talented player who has fallen out of favor with his current team and needs a restart.
