I like the weegar trade, but I really think we should resign brannstrom for probably 1.5M or under. He's still young, has become wayyy more responsible defensively, and is a great option to slot up in the lineup if Chabot or Sanderson get injured.

Just don’t see the long term upside in keeping brannstrom even if he’s become a solid 3rd pairing guy. The bottom 6 forwards are terrible, Kelly has like 1 goal, Joseph 3, Gambrell 1 etc, and a player like Trent Frederic who could score ~15 goals would be much more impactful than brannstrom. JBD would be cheaper than brannstrom as well.

Bogus take. Yeah he’s having a down year in Calgary but he’s still playing like a top 4 Defenceman. He was playing like a top pairing guy in Florida. 6.25 mill cap hit for a top 4 guy is pretty standard around the league
