Ehh, what is Carolina doing in this? They are NOT getting Barby for a 3rd. And two 23 1sts and more than enough on their own to get Meier. The Blues are not doing anything like this.

I don't see the Blues giving up Barbashev for anything less than a '23 2nd round pick, and they definitely aren't giving up 4 picks AND a player for someone they could pursue through free agency.

If they want him now for some reason (which I find unlikely) and San Jose is interested, I would expect the final deal to send Meier to St. Louis for Barbashev, '23 1st, and an additional pick/picks, probably consisting of either their '24 2nd or a '23 3rd + additional '24 picks or maybe some picks further down the line. I don't see the Blues shipping their '23 2nd or '24 1st as part of this deal when they appear to be in a rebuilding phase.

Considering the prospect potential in this year's draft, coupled with the fact that the Blues will have more cap space than the Sharks this coming offseason, however, I just don't see the Blues chomping at the bit to get Meier now.
