- for schenn, i believe this is what he'll ultimately get. maybe a first straight up, but i believe a late pick would come in return with schenn if that's the case
- in regards to the trade with the blues, it puts the rangers in quite the cap crunch. i think both of these players would love to play with panarin (and vica versa). the blues get a mix of draft capital, prospects and nhl ready prospects. krav needs a fresh start but has shown improvements in his last stint. jones is the rangers best prospect that hasn't been called up. sadly, there is just no place on the team for him. henriksson has shown sparks of playing top tier in the ahl, but has never gotten the call up. if there was more availability, the rangers would give him a chance. unfortunately, all three of these don't have a future with the rangers, although i believe they still can all be nhl regulars (and better).
- rangers keep the cap as close as they can to the ceiling, not much room for movement here is the only bad thing
- there will be some people complaining about how they expect tarasenko and barb to get more, but you have to remember that they're both rentals (for now). and the value in this, is around what they are going to get at the deadline (unless someone overpays like crazy)
- also to keep note, tarasenko is having a down year for sure and some people tend to overvalue barb. i believe this is very fair value
