This is ridiculous, habs want a 1st plus for Edmunson and a 1st and a grade A prospect for anderson (who's not available BTW) so this package is getting you this guys without ANY retention, JP and WF and that D guy are added as cap dump so this is already a compromise to get the deal done, asking for 1.75M retention a year for 2 years on eddy and 2M for 5 years (13M total) is gonna cost you a hell of a lot more

it's a pair of 1sts, a 2nd, and a top prospect coming back. Puljujarvi is a reclamation project, Foegele is sent back for cap purposes, and Niemelainen is just a body that doesn't really change the calculus for me whether he's in there or not. The retention sucks, for sure, and I think that kills the deal, but if Edmonton could find a way around needing that retention I say you gotta do this.

Without retention on anderson it might be a deal but im against trading him so if you ask me its no deal...

This is a troll post. Habs fan don’t want or expect this kind of return at all for Edmundson and Drouin. A 1st round pick is enough. Habs also dont need to trade Drouin since his cap hit comes off this summer so he’s really just a throw in if a team wants him for a Playoff run. Edmundson is the one with value here
