Description
(See Part 1)

After deadline deals for Horvat, Schenn, and Burroughs that brought draft capital and prospects, they move out bigger contracts in Boeser, Garland, and Myers in an improved trade market due to the cap going up and teams having more money coming off the books.

I actually think it's possible this team is better than the current team due to the Gavrikov addition who is a big upgrade on D for this team because it means Ekman-Larsson won't have to play big minutes anymore which is a huge plus for this team. Having Ekman-Larsson in a sheltered role where he gets more o-zone starts will do wonders for this teams overall defense.

I know it's usually an unlikely scenario where you trade a player and end up re-signing him in the off-season but Luke Schenn has already done it once before and he does enjoy living in Vancouver. In his deal I am including a NMC so he can dictate his future from now on.

The addition of Mantha could be a nice fit beside Pettersson but the goal is to increase his value before the trade deadline. Same goes for Pearson as he is also in the last year of his deal.

      1. Garland, Conor
      Détails additionnels:
Using the same comparable as the Bjorkstrand trade (3rd and 4th). Boston had had previous interest in Garland when he was on Arizona. They will also have the cap space to make a move like this. He is a great producer at 5 on 5 and will fit in great with the Bruins.

      1. Mantha, Anthony
      Détails additionnels:
Vancouver does this to get out of Boeser's final year as they are just looking to clear cap space. Putting Mantha on Pettersson's wing to up his trade value and hopefully net a good return at the deadline should be a priority.

      1. Boeser, Brock
      2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2024 (VAN)
      Détails additionnels:
Washington does this because there is more upside in Boeser's game and without wanting to rebuild with Ovechkin still here, this is a creative move they make to try and get better. Boeser lacks explosiveness in his game like Mantha but he is a very smart player who is always in the right spots. Downside to this trade is that there is injury risk. It's also possible Boeser and Mantha have equal production and Washington ends up taking on an extra year of Brocks salary but I think it's a risk they are willing to make.

      1. Myers, Tyler (3 000 000 $ retained)
      Détails additionnels:
Leafs can't afford to be handing out contracts in free agency so they will have to get creative in adding to their lineup. Getting Myers at 50% retained is a good add and is an upgrade on Holl. Holl will likely get a multi-year deal in free agency which is something the Leafs can't afford to do.

Impressive scenario, but keep dreaming tears of joy . Literally no chance Leafs pay a 2nd for Myers even if he was 100% retained.
IF they need help on D next year, it’ll be bottom pair and they can easily find cheaper ($ & no assets) options in FA.

Caps pass. Boeser is a downgrade from Mantha and Caps are in the business of staying good. They MIGHT be interested in Boeser but they aren't going to send a better player for him, it would be picks/prospects but not great ones. Boeser's value is not high right now.

Boston has next to zero cap space, so idk how you can say "They will also have the cap space to make a move like this."
