Agree with you that it’s a weak offer; not sure Kubalik is worth a 1st but also don’t see any reason wings need to trade Kubalik. Especially if bertuzzi is walking; have to think wings will be major players in FA over summer and plan to contend next year so why move cost effective, productive winger

Detroit is unlikely to be a contender for a few more years. They will make the playoffs next year based on "internal growth" alone but it will take two or three years of building beyond that before they're good enough to contend for the cup. Yzerman will be adding pieces here and there next summer but they will likely not be major acquisitions, just upgrades where needed. The prospect pool in Detroit is still very thin ever since the Holland years depleted it to keep the playoff streak going and it will take a few years to mend that so I'm expecting Yzerman to move a few pieces for picks and prospects this TDL and continue to patiently build a juggernaut, just like he did in Tampa.

Detroit is set on LD and LW but still have weaknesses on the other positions and lack prospect depth there.
