Edmundson at 50% is worth a 2nd... if you're lucky because he's just not very talented anymore

Monahan at 50% is worth a 1st OR a top prospect if youre lucky because he's always injured and a rental

So that's 5 retentions to receive 3 5th's, or a 2nd, or a 1st... seems like Drouin/Dad should just play out their bad deal.

Hoffman is a lockeroom/media cancer, even at 2x2.25.

Monahan to COL/BOS/TOR makes most sense.

Edmundson to EDM or FLA makes sense for THEM, do YOU want to help them at the cost of a '23 2nd?

so basicaly its just Edmunson that we don't get along for the value

Drouin,Dadonov, Hoffman for 4/5 round if retain is around mid to late (but we could only retain on one if we retain on Monahan and Edmunson)
so we can accept 6/7 round with no retention or
i agree with you and have no problem to just wait till the end for Drouin and Dadonov (this summer) that's why i said 3 on 5
and Monhan half retain for a 1st round that's what we want i add a grade B prospect in the trade but the possibility to add on MTL side too to compensate but Monahan for a 1st straigt up i am ok with it

but i think with 2 years of retain salary on Edmunson if we add a mid round (or value of) we can get a 1st OR a good prospect

so i am not too far off overall

It's only worth a '23 3rd to add a B prospect in Monahan deal if it's a D or G, so find them on those teams and propose trade to see feedback

Disagreeing with the previous commenter, I don’t think you’ll get a 1st from anyone for Monahan 50% retained. There will be a market there, just not a premium one.

Someone will overpay for Edmundson 50% with retention, but I doubt you get a 1st there either. He also takes up a retention spot next year.

Teams are only allowed to retain on 3 players. So assuming you use 2 of your 3 retention spots on Monahan and Edmundson, you have 1 slot left.

Drouin and Dadonov don’t have any value whatsoever with their current cap hits. You’d be lucky to get a late round pick for either at 50% retention.

Hoffman also sucks with that contract, but maybe you can get a return for him at 50% retained for a team that needs a pure shooter. Even then, you’d be saddled with his retention for next season also.

I think Habs fans are likely going to be disappointed in the returns for these five guys on the trade block. Maybe there’s an overpay on one (Edmundson), but the rest aren’t particularly valuable.
